In celebration of the 21st anniversay of Gerg’s 12th birthday, there was a pine wood derby.
Gerg is good like that. My #10 car turned out pretty well. I didn’t even come close. A young upstart who shall remain nameless won…. With her shark week car.

I won something back in 2004. I forget what it was, but it was a serious win on a serious issue.

The only pinewood derby stuff I remember doing was back in cubscouts about ~20 years ago. As I recall, they had all sorts of judges to examine the cars to make sure that they were within the allowed weight, etc.
I remember some cars being disqualified for secret weights being added, etc. Also, I recall those cars also looked very nice and were beyond my skill as a 10 year old (and probably most ten year olds)… which leads me to believe that some dads were doing more than giving advice to their little scouts.
Ahh, good times. Nothing represents the scouting way like cheating at pinewood derby.
